Celebrate SPRING with these outrageous mini milkshakes! The weather is warming up making it the perfect time for a creamy, cool treat. We still have a few weeks of Winter left but you can’t tell from the weather, Spring is certainly in the air. My family and I spent this beautiful warm weekend in the local park throwing around a football and flying my son’s drone. The drone unfortunately didn’t make it back home, the trees got it, but we had a blast anyway. We spent Saturday evening at home making milkshakes and catching up on movies.

Everyone in my family LOVES milkshakes, they’re the perfect delicious dessert to make at home. Smaller portions are the way to enjoy indulgent treats like these without too much guilt. I used 8 ounce glasses to limit portion sizes. Lots of fresh fruit and a little decadent treat on top like a mini doughnut or a macaron make these milkshakes fun, colorful and delicious.

I stopped by my local Walmart and picked up a few cartons of Blue Bunny® ice cream (check out the Blue Bunny® ice cream flavors here), some fruit and some other delicious sweet treats.

Even before you get it home you can see how delicious Blue Bunny® ice cream is through the new, clear containers.

I picked up Blue Bunny® Cherrific Cheesecake for my daughter who loves everything cherry flavored. For my son I grabbed Blue Bunny® Mint Chocolate Chip and for my husband and I Blue Bunny® Homemade Vanilla was the best choice.

Here’s how we made our delicious mini milkshakes at home:

Melt a half cup of store bought  frosting (we used vanilla) for about 6 seconds in the microwave. Dip the rim of your glass in the melted frosting then into sprinkles. Let this dry for about 10 minutes while you blend your mini milkshakes.

Blend a half cup of ice cream with some 2% milk and pour into 8 ounce glasses. Decorate the mini milkshakes with skewers of fruit, a cube of pound cake or brownie, even a mini chocolate doughnut.

Thanks so much, Michelle! We really had fun with these, I have to say. We kept the milkshakes small and using lots of fruit so we can enjoy an outrageous treat once in a while.
