*sponsored* Smoke and Duck Sauce Atlanta marries Southern smoked meats and Asian pickled vegetables.
I had an absolute blast the other night with the Atlanta food blogger Society at Smoke and Duck Sauce Atlanta’s new Asian influenced barbecue restaurant. Smoke + Duck Sauce makes one tasty brisket, my favorite dish from our menu tasting last night.
Location: 2014 Powers Ferry Rd SE Suite 400 Atlanta, GA 678-888-2070 smokeandducksauce.com
We tried a variety of smoked meats including chicken, pork ribs and pulled pork but the brisket was the stand out in my opinion. It has the perfect amount of smoke and the most delicious bark around the outside. The brisket also finds it’s way into a delicious brisket fried rice made with sushi rice instead of the traditional medium or long grain rice you usually find in fried rice recipes. That was another big winner of the evening.
You can also order plain or smoked chicken fried rice.
House-made sauces really bring everything together. From spicy barbecue to duck sauce to teriyaki sauce and mustard-maple barbecue you are sure to find a sauce to suit your taste buds.
I love that the pulled pork isn’t too pulled, it’s chopped into chunky bits that let’s you sink your teeth into the succulent texture of the meat. The pickled carrots and radish on top are a great compliment to the dish.
Smoke and Duck Sauce could be described as a fast-casual restaurant with a cool minimal decor. Lunchtime is busiest for the restaurant right now so if you want to get a seat in the small dining room you may want to visit for dinner.
For dessert you can choose a cool treat from King of Pops or you can order this decadent Hong Kong French Toast. It’s like a pressed French toast/banana sandwich with almond butter and condensed milk syrup. DELICIOUS!
The team at Smoke and Duck Sauce opened a second location in Decatur, with more locations to come but the owner, hard-working Chinese immigrant Gary Lin, took the time to come in to chat with us about our dining experience. Gary came to America 20 years ago and worked as a dishwasher before building his restaurant empire. Many thanks to Gary and his crew for providing this delicious complimentary meal. All opinions are my own.
Definitely check out Smoke + Duck Sauce, I know I’ll be back to try their other offerings…and more brisket.
