open shelving
The decor at Foundation Social Eatery is giving me open shelving envy! LOVE it!  Rebar is used in the shelving and throughout the restaurant.

I love my little town, Roswell, GA, mostly for the great restaurants.  One of the newest to hit the block is Foundation Social Eatery and I am SO happy it’s here.  Foundation opened last week and its already off to a strong start.  The space is beautiful and bright with an orchid motif repeated using a variety of different materials; fabric panels, birch, concrete, nails. Another great space by design firm ai3, they do good work.

Appetizers, ribs, crab cake, mussles
The appetizers at Foundation have a little something for everyone. We tried the Peeky Toe Crab Cake, Crispy Pork Ribs, Wood Oven Roasted Mussels, Chicken sausage and Focaccia (there’s a picture of the sausage and focaccia below)

My family and I dropped in on Sunday evening and we didn’t even get past the “Beginnings” portion of the menu.  All the appetizers looked so great, we just ordered the last five things from that section of the menu and made a meal out of that.  My daughter and I were making plans about what to get on our next visit before the food came to the table from this first visit.  For the record she and I have decided that next time we’ll get some charcuterie, I’m a sucker for house made pate.

Foundation restaurant, chicken sausage
The FSE Chicken Sausage in the “Beginnings” section of the menu was delicious. House made sausage with sweet pea puree and chicken jus, presented beautifully.
Foundation restaurant, crab cake
The sauteed Peeky Toe Crab Cake was full of crab and not filler, just the way it should be. It’s served with a vanilla-pineapple puree and an herb salad.  I had to snap this pic fast, my baby girl was getting hungry.
Foundation restaurant crispy ribs
Foundation restaurant crispy ribs with pickled red onion, pork jus and scallions. My favorite thing on the menu that we tried that day. This is where sharing becomes a problem.
Foundation restaurant foccccia
Foundation restaurant foccccia served with butter, olive oil and olive tapenade. One of the house made breads at Foundation.
Foundation restaurant mussels
Foundation restaurant Wood Oven Roasted Mussels, DELICIOUS! We had to get two more orders of bread to sop up all the sauce…yeah , it was THAT good.
Foundation restaurant, Roswell GA private dining
Private dining at Foundation, adjacent to the patio/balcony.  The artwork features the orchid motif in nails.

The ribs were delicious. Crispy on the outside but moist and tender on the outside. SO good.
