Ribs cooked in the air fryer are tender and delicious AND ready in about 30 minutes. I use a 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi combination pressure cooker and an air fryer to cook these air fryer ribs but it also works in the Power Air Fryer XL 5.3 Quart size.
What are country style ribs?
Country style ribs are actually not ribs at all. They are cut from the shoulder (butt) of the pig or the loin near the shoulder of the pig. Watch the video above to see the difference. For this air fryer country ribs recipe, I used loin country style ribs. Rub the ribs with your favorite seasoning blend or marinate them overnight. Prick the country style ribs all over with a fork to let the seasoning and marinade penetrate the meat.

Marinate country style ribs
This is a Chinese style country ribs recipe so we will begin by pricking the ribs all over then rubbing them with a blend of kosher salt, Chinese five spice powder, and ground ginger. Make a marinade with hoisin sauce (I substitute BBQ sauce sometimes), soy sauce and honey. Divide the marinade in half, pour half over the ribs and reserve the other half in a separate container for the glaze. Refrigerate the ribs and reserved marinade overnight.
Cook the ribs in the air fryer
Set the air fryer to 325º Farenheight. If your air fryer allows, add 1 cup of water to the bottom of the air fryer. This optional step will prevent the sweet marinade from burning on the bottom. Place a rack or air fryer basket on top of this. Remove the ribs from the marinade and discard the marinade that the ribs were in. Place the country style ribs in the air fryer in one layer. Cook for 15 minutes then turn them and cook them for an additional 15 minutes.
Brush the country style pork ribs with the reserved marinade and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until an instant read thermometer registers a temperature of 170° Farenheight.
