MMMMM sushi..I LOVE IT! I used to make it at home quite a bit but I haven’t made it lately. I don’t think I made any at home at all last year, which is sad because my family loves it. After taking a sushi class at Bottle Rocket ATL in the Historic Art community of Castleberry Hill in Atlanta I’m inspired to get back to it.

Many thanks to the Association of Food Bloggers and Bottle Rocket for inviting my husband and me out to make sushi, it was so much more fun than just going out to dinner. This was a fantastic date for us, we had a TON of fun. Check out Bottle Rocket’s sushi classes for an amazing Valentine’s Day! How much fun would that be?

There’s a Scoutmob deal going on for these sushi classes. You might want to CHECK IT OUT HERE

Yeah, CLEARLY we had a blast!

Our instructor, Jen Anderson claims she’s no master sushi chef but she did a darn good job guiding a diverse group of students to make their own sushi. Just take a look at her boss level knife skills!

Our stations were set with rice, avocado, red onion, pickled ginger and mango. We received our fish when we were ready to roll, until then it was kept chilled.

We started class with salmon nigiri by learning to make the perfect wine cork sized rice ball:

We moved on to these California Rolls:

And finished with Aloha Rolls:

The cocktails at Bottle Rocket are tasty as well. We each had a Dark and Stormy during class, I think that loosened everyone up a bit. The sake bombs didn’t hurt either. Definitely check out the Sushi Class at Bottle Rocket ATL or for karaoke after an art stroll. You will eat well and have a good time. Thanks again to Jen, Josh and the entire Bottle Rocket ATL staff.
