YP Brunch at Empire State South sweetsavant.com America's best food blog

You know I love a party and YP threw a GREAT one at Empire State South last Sunday…a brunch to be exact.   YP  (the updated YellowPages aka the ORIGINAL search engine) knows how to throw a fantastic event – sharing good times; connecting old friends and new.

One key to the success of a party is starting with a great venue. Empire State South (999 Peachtree Street Northeast suite 140 Atlanta, GA) was the perfect restaurant for this event and it didn’t hurt that we had the entire place to ourselves. The service at Empire State South is unmatched-friendly and attentive without being stuffy and the food… SPECTACULAR:

YP and Empire State South put out a fantastic spread for brunch. From yogurt and granola, french toast, healthy salads fresh fruit…

…and a variety of delicious cocktails like this “Corpse Reviver” and of course MIMOSAS

To have a great event you must have great guests. The guests at the YP brunch were a diverse group of people, some I’ve met quite a few times others I had only met online and some I had never met until that day. Everyone I spoke to was open and chatty. Its (almost) always nice to meet those you’ve worked met online in the real world, “2D to 3D” as Jason Dominy (pictured below with wife April and Chef Hugh Acheson) calls it. I got to see lots of members from the Atlanta Food Bloggers’ society, which is always nice.

Many thanks to Erica Key, of Eating with Erica (pictured below on the right with Altimese from YP)  and local blogger for YP,  for inviting me to this event.

A great host is a must and Chef Hugh Acheson is the best. He dropped some knowledge on us about the importance of having a great staff  “Empower people and trust in their skill set” about running several restaurants “I’m a baseball manager, I put the team on the field” and about the abundance of restaurants in general “There’s never enough saturation for better restaurants“.

Chef Acheson graciously  gifted us all a signed copy of his book “The Broad Fork” but I had already purchased it a few weeks prior so to keep the good JUJU going I’m giving my second copy away (for a chance to win Chef Acheson’s book click here)

I had  a fantastic time and I’m looking forward to many more great YP events around Atlanta and nationally.
