Rice Krispie Treats may be my favorite dessert, I’d choose them over cake or pie….creme brule is probably the only dessert that I like as much as a good ole Rice Krispie Treat.
I made these for a bake sale for my kids marching band, I think they were a hit…because how could they not be. They’re super easy to make so really its a win for everyone. You don’t have to work too hard to make them and they’re bound to sell out and make good money for the fundraiser.
To frost the Rice Krispie Treats just warm some store bought frosting (I used vanilla) in the microwave for about 30 seconds, slightly more if needed. Stir the frosting until it has a runny consistency and spoon it over the finished Rice Krispie Treats. You may need to smooth the frosting out with the back of a spoon to get a thin, even coating. Sprinkle on a bunch of sprinkles while the frosting is still wet so the sprinkles will stick.
Let the Frosted Rice Krispie Treats sit uncovered for a few hours until the frosting is dry and firm. Once the frosting was completely set (I actually made the Treats late at night and waited until the morning to put them in plastic) I put them into individual plastic bags for the bake sale.
