Method
- Heat olive oil in a large saucepan
- Crush the garlic and add it to the pan
- Add the tomato paste to the pan and saute for about a minute
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes
- Stir in the salt, oregano, red pepper flakes and sugar ( if you're using those)
- Simmer the sauce for 15 to 20 minutes
- Turn off the heat
- Remove the garlic cloves
- Tear the basil leaves and stir them into the sauce
