This KILLER Smoked Beef Brisket Recipe is a Real Crowd Pleaser

Ingredients
  

  • one 5-6 pound beef brisket flat
  • 3 teaspoons of kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 onion

Method
 

  1. trim the fat from the brisket and cut into 2 inch cubes
  2. season the brisket with salt, pepper, onion powder and granulated garlic
  3. grill the brisket over the hot coals for 5 minutes, turning to brown
  4. place a pan of water under the grates of the cool side of the grill
  5. move the brisket to the cool side of the grill over the water pan
  6. close the grill and smoke the brisket for 1 and 1/2 hours
  7. mix the beef broth, ketchup, brown sugar, and balsamic vinegar together
  8. chop the onion
  9. add the brisket and chopped onion to the sauce mixture, cover and braise for 2-3 hours, until tender
