Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse-Phipps Plaza

Gnocchi Carbonara, Davio's — This gnocchi from Davio’s…HEAVENLY! Melt in your mouth does not begin to describe the texture. The gnocchi virtually disappears moments after touching your tongue. The sauce was carbonara with pork, beef and veal, delicious.

Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, GA is a super fancy mall with lots of high end shopping. It’s also home to Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse a fantastic restaurant with some of the best service in town. I was fortunate enough to get an invitation to dinner at Davio’s Atlanta, hosted by owner Steve DiFillippo. Thanks to the Atlanta Food Bloggers’ Society for putting this all together.

Here’s a look at what we had for dinner. BTW I will dream about the pillow soft gnocchi for many MANY nights to come.

Surf &Turf NY Sirloin 8 oz, scallops with pea risotto — Perfect Surf &Turf. New York Sirloin, scallops with pea risotto. Davio’s gets risotto right, the rice is creamy with just a slight bit of firmness, the peas still had a bit of snap and freshness to them.

Dessert, vanilla panna cotta with strawberry/mint salad. What’s in the bag, you ask. The rest of my steak is in that bag, It was delicious but after so much great food I just couldn’t manage it. Not to worry, my husband enjoyed the steak as a midnight snack.

Davio’s owner Steve DiFillippo (who started his restaurant empire in Boston, in 1984, when he was 24) was kind enough to sign copies of his book “It’s All About The Guest”.

that’s a good looking crabcake. i hate paying for them at restaurants only to find tons of bread or mayonaisse

mmmmm the food looks absolutely yummy! Made me hungry 🙂 I don’t get out much, so I can’t say I’ve been to a wonderful restaurant lately but this looks delightful!

That looks delicious. As an Italian myself, I prefer the northern version of foods…I think they are much more creative and tasty!

Wow!!! That food looks amazing. I would love to visit Davio’s. I cannot believe it is located in a mall. This is definitely on the list on our next visit to Atlanta.

  Its rare to find a restaurant where everything you try is delicious, but Davio’s certainly hit the mark every time. I enjoyed everything I ate.

  Its a pretty posh mall to say the least. I did some window shopping at Tiffany’s while I was there.
