YAY! Summer is finally here. It has actually felt like summer for a few weeks already, we’ve had quite a few days of temperatures soaring into the 90’s. I can’t think of a better way to beat the heat than with these Ombre Wine Slushies!

Break out your blender and get ready for a real treat. Sutter Home makes a huge variety of affordably priced wines so you can pick up a few bottles without breaking the bank. You may be familiar with Sutter Home wines, a family business that has produced award winning wine since 1948. They’ve recently introduced a Moscato/Chardonnay as well as a Moscato/Riesling Blend that are perfect for summer entertaining.

Ombre Wine Slushies are a fun way to use Sutter Home wines this summer…or fall, or winter LOL I’d like one of these in any season. Here are the steps to make them

First make some wine ice cubes. To get the ombre effect I used three varieties of Sutter Home Moscato- the new Moscato/Riesling blend, Pink Moscato and Red Moscato

Next, blend the ice cubes keeping each variety of wine separate.

Then make a fun fruit garnish- cut out shapes with small cookie cutters and put them on skewers.

Gently spoon your blended wine into the glass to keep the layers defined. Place the darkest color on the bottom so the ombre effect will last even as your slushie begins to melt.
