Ingredients
  

  • 5 pounds pork steaks
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup Wondra flour or all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 fresh thyme sprigs
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • Serve with grits or rice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  • Season pork steaks with salt, lemon pepper and garlic powder
  • heat the oil in a Dutch oven and brown the pork in batches
  • Drain the oil and saute the onion until translucent
  • Stir in the chopped garlic, bay leaves and thyme
  • Add the pork back to the pot and add the chicken broth
  • Cover and cook in the oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour
  • Remove the cover and let cook for 30 minutes more
  • Spoon away any excess oil and serve
