BRIAN JORDAN TEAMS UP WITH CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES CHEF TO READ AND COOK GREEN EGGS AND HAM AT TASTE OF ATLANTA

Two sport superstar Brian Jordan (he was a Brave and a Falcon) and current Atlanta Braves pre-game Analyst on Braves Live has a passion to help kids excel academically and physically. He has helped many kids pursue their academic goals through college scholarships from his Brian Jordan Foundation

Brian Jordan teamed up with Carnival Cruise Line at Taste of Atlanta last weekend to give  a wonderful group of kids from the Young Chef’s Academy a taste of Carnival’s fleet wide SEUSS AT SEA program. Brian read Green Eggs and Ham to the kids IN THE RAIN! Now THAT’S dedication. Brian is a dad of 4 kids so it was clear that this was not his first rodeo. He really engaged the Young Chefs in the story, asking them questions and allowing them to express their ideas. When asked, some of the kids expressed hesitation about eating Green Eggs and Ham declaring that they “…would NOT eat them with a goat” but they indeed might “eat them on a boat”. They would soon get their chance to put the recipe to the test.

After the he finished reading Green Eggs and Ham Brian joined Carnival Cruise line Chef Roshan D’Souza in a cooking demonstration of a few Dr. Seuss-themed dishes served in Carnival’s Seuss at Sea program. Chef D’Souza was a real trooper as he cooked Green Eggs and Ham, prepared Truffula Tree Pancakes and shared a few stories of his own as a light rain came down. He has a fantastic sense of humor as he joked with us and scrambled up some green eggs. I suspect this was a walk in the park compared to cooking for thousands of people on board a floating paradise.

This was just a small taste of the Seuss themed activities that Carnival Cruise Line is serving on board their ships. My family has taken two Carnival Cruises in past years (before the Seuss and Sea program began) and my kids (now teens) always had a fantastic time but clearly it’s time we get back on board. Families can enjoy Seuss character parades and breakfast with beloved characters like Things 1 and 2.

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Brian Jordan for many years and I’m proud to have him as a client and a friend.

I’d like to thank Carnival Cruise Line for making a donation to the Brian Jordan Foundation and for inviting me to attend this event.

I would also like to thank my wonderful husband for taking the photos in this post (except where noted)
