NOT a sponsored post, we love Myrtle Beach and visit often

We recently took a family trip to Myrtle Beach. When traveling with two teens deciding where to stay and where to go can be a challenge. It can be challenging to find a hotel for a decent price when traveling with teens. We like for them to share a room, adjoining ours if possible so they won’t be far from us. On our last trip to Myrtle Beach the Sheraton Myrtle Beach Convention Center fit the bill. We booked a suite with two double beds in the bedroom and a large attached living room with a sofa.

I must say the room was very nice. The bedroom was simple and understated but the adjoining living room was lovely.  Our teens slept in the living room area one on the couch, one on a mattress on the floor) while the hubby and I took the bedroom. The hotel was undergoing renovations to the guest rooms during our visit, I can’t wait to see what improvements they make. The Sheraton Myrtle Beach will definitely be our home away from home whenever we visit the area. Because of the short length of our stay we didn’t have time to enjoy all of the hotel’s amenities like the pool or the fitness center. Hopefully we’ll get to experience more on our next trip, I’ll post an update if we do.

We went down to the beach but unfortunately didn’t get to do any swimming on this BEAUTIFUL day. We did make it back to the ocean later that night just to stick our toes in the water.

We rolled into Myrtle Beach with hopes of taking a dolphin boat tour when we arrived but we didn’t get in town in time. We reserved a spot on the Sea Screamer for the next day for a GUARANTEED dolphin sighting. More about that in a bit,

Since we were only going to be in Myrtle Beach ’till the next day we tried to pack in as much fun as we could.  We headed to the boardwalk and bought our tickets for the Skywheel. We wanted to go on the wheel at night but we figured it would be a good idea to get tickets early. We walked down the street, did a little sight seeing and stopped into a couple of arcades on our way.

Arcades are ALWAYS a hit with my people, we are a house full of gamers, I’ll even play one or two. We played a while, got a few prize tickets and redeemed them for, well basically for junk. Arcade prizes are almost always worth less than the amount of money you spend to win them, but its all in good fun.

Back out on the street again and now to I LOVE SUGAR the candy store. When my daughter spots a candy store you can forget it, she MUST go in and buy ALL the gumballs.

Gummy Chandelier at I Love Sugar. I want this in my bedroom

She gets her sweet tooth from her mama for sure. I can’t resist red gummy bears or Swedish  Fish. If Goldenberg’s peanut chews (original dark flavor please) are in the house they must come home with me

My husband and daughter wanted to do a little ziplining so we walked a little more to the zip line stand.

After a bit of rest back at the hotel we headed back out to the boardwalk to the Skywheel. That was a LOT of fun. Looking down on all the crazy….READ MORE …READ MORE>>

Our children are in the process of transitioning from the kid years to the pre-teen years and selecting a travel destination is already becoming more difficult. A good beach with plenty of fun activities will always be a hit with my bunch.

How fun! The day I visited Myrtle Beach, it was raining. I saw a lot of indoors and very little outdoors. I’m tempted to drive back just to see the chandelier and stay in a suite at the Sheraton.
