Trader Joe's Orange Chicken Tacos

Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken Tacos: Mandarin orange chicken is my favorite product from Trader Joe’s. It must be the favorite of a LOT of people because it’s their top selling frozen item. I asked my kids what I should make with the bag we had in the freezer and my son suggested we make Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken Tacos. I thought that was a fantastic idea so I picked up some fresh vegetables to go with it and we made some DELICIOUS tacos!

There is really no recipe for this, I cooked the Mandarin orange chicken according to the directions on the package for heating in the oven. The chicken comes with two packets of sweet sauce to pour over the chicken, I drizzle a little sriracha over my tacos to have some spice to balance the sweetness.

My Green Apple Slaw recipe would be delicious on this Mandarin orange chicken taco, here’s the recipe:

A mixture of fresh, chopped vegetables, lettuce, cabbage, jalapenos, some salsa and avocado on corn or flour tortillas makes this a great DIY meal for the family. I fried some corn tortillas to make my own crispy taco shells.

Each person can add whatever they like to their tacos in whatever quantity they want. If you like cilantro, pile it on…if not, leave it off. It’s totally up to you. I added crisp radishes, scallions and cucumbers on my crispy orange chicken tacos as well as ALL of the toppings listed above. A squeeze of fresh lime juice adds a nice bit of sour to counter the sweet sauce.

This makes an incredibly easy dinner. I lined a sheet pan with aluminum foil for easy clean up, for me that’s half the battle. The idea of scrubbing pots and pans after a meal can be a real deterrent to getting dinner on the table so I try to take steps to make clean up easy.

I use these half sheet pans almost every day in the kitchen for recipes like this and for baking cookies. I even use them in the refrigerator under meat to catch any drips
